Family Support ServicesFamily Support Services

In-home visiting and parent education program that provides a "Family Advocate" to those families whose children have been identified as being "at risk" of child abuse. Visits are made in the comfort of the family's home. The Family Advocates teach positive parenting, discipline alternatives, effective communication/conflict resolution, home management, and help the families to access services from community providers. The Family Advocates also work with the children, teaching positive behavior, good study skills, and hygiene.

Weekly visits with parents help to reduce their feelings of isolation and give them a "friend" who can help them understand the difficulties and rewards of raising their children. All services are free of charge to the families and are offered in both English and Spanish.

Bright Beginnings logoBright Beginnings

In-home family support and education to help parents of newborn and young children as they develop through their early years. A primary focus of this program is to teach parents how early brain development is key to increasing their child's potential throughout their lives. We encourage parents to provide an environment full of learning and growth opportunities to enhance school readiness for each child as they progress to their first academic experience. We help the families to establish goals to assure that each child's home is free of safety concerns and has a healthy living environment.
